IELTS Essay Sample 1: Companies Should be Required to Allocate a Certain Percentage to Women!

Most high-level positions in companies are filled by men even though the workforce in many developed countries is more than 50 percent female. Companies should be required to allocate a certain percentage of these positions to women.

To what extent do you agree?

Sample Answer: 
In many developed nations vacant positions in companies are filled by men rather than women. I strongly agree with this statement that women should get a chance of being hired for certain positions because their performance in academics is better than men’s as well as women are good at critical thinking and creativity.
Nowadays, women are performing well in their educational careers. The percentage of women passing academic exams is higher than men’s percentage. It represents that women have good potential and subject-related knowledge. It helps them to implement those skills in their career because they are experts in that subject or stream. If the companies are preferring people with good subject knowledge, then women are well in it. For instance, women in the UK have performed well in Law exams and passed with distinction which represents that they are equally capable of doing any work with men.
Another thing is that women are exceptionally well at critical thinking and solve issues in different ways. Lots of researchers have proven that women’s thinking capability is beyond someone’s imagination. Moreover, they solve lots of issues by doing root cause analysis which is sometimes impossible for men. Such qualities in women make them totally different than men. In some critical working conditions, women are appointed to advise with some creative solutions will be helpful in many ways. For example, in India, the Finance Minister is a woman and her advice helps the nation to achieve economic growth.
In conclusion, companies should give an equal preference to women, because they are with a higher percentage in academic background and with deep root, thinking capabilities will help many companies to get good leaders for their brighter future.
